The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964)

As much as I love THE SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH, I just finished revisiting this old friend on DVD the other day and was surprised, even though it's more of a general drama, that there was nothing...

Re: The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964)

I never even knew this thing existed. Then I saw the cover for the DVD somewhere. This gave me the vibe of something like So Dear To My Heart, just a mediocre movie. I wasn't until I read the review...

Re: The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964)

Disney's back catalogue is full of surprises. Adult themes and mature emotions are at work in virtually all his films up through the mid-to-late 1960s. What distinguishes The Three Lives of Thomasina...

Disney, while known for their quality, has also put out quite a few bombs. SDTMH is between the bombs and the classics. While it may be an OK movie, it doesn't measure up to the classics. It also is...

Re: The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964)

Saw this first run at the ol' Valentine Theater (maybe a double - any one recall if so?). Was never a major Disney fan, but as a cat non-hater, and fantasy liker, I liked 'er. Great weekend, -Craig W.

I remember seeing this on TV as a fairly young child, and finding it very creepy and disturbing. The "Thomasina" musical theme literally used to make my hair stand on end.

I always found it amusing that this film, which takes place in Scotland, has an Irishman in the lead while Darby O'Gill and the Little People takes place in Ireland and stars a Scot. Go figure.

I believe the current offer is that you buy 4 DVD's at retail price within a year. The Club selects one featured title per month, but you can decline it, and buy some other title from them, or not buy...

I am simply going by the fact that I am fairly knowledgeable in Disney product, but did not get to see Thomasina till I was 43!!! Maybe the film's subject matter? (Since it is not a bad film at all.)

Considering it further, you may have a point. I haven't seen the film in at least 20 years. My tape copy is quite poor and finding it in my huge, disorganized collection would be difficult. During the...

Re: The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964)

My main reason for posting here is actually "Thomasina"'s (incidental) connection to the 1932 "The Mummy".  Both, that is, invoke the Egyptian cat goddess Bast!  Spoiler alert:  The plot itself is...
